Hi,

Just thought id raise a topic to see who does/doesnt offer fitting
of accesories, towel rail/toilet roll holder/soap dish/floor borders
etc after a tile installation.

Share any good or bad pointers about the service..??

Ian.
I always fitted accessories, because I hated to be re-called to replace tiles that were shattered by..(.usually hairy arsed rough diamond plumbers) using power drills with hammer action...like cracking a nut with a steamroller. Pus tilers have the flair to be able to position things right and to respect the work they have just done...oh and extra wages... ....Gaz

So far I have done them for free, but the last one started to take the p!$$.

They asked if I would do toilet roll holder and a 4ft mirror after the tiling, I said yes.
Bathroom tiled and grouted, drilled in bog roll holder then the mirror, then out came a shower rail holder, new shower chrome pipe to connect to the bath taps, a window blind and a shower screen.
I did everything baring the shower screen, I didn't have a ceramic drill bit small enough for some of the screen fittings, and also If I didn't get the shower screen 100% right, then it may leak, and any leaking from a shower screen would be my problem, had vissions of water through the downstairs ceiling and said I can't do that, no drill bits.

Did everything else for free, though some do take the p!$$ a bit.

That's why i don't do it at all.
Too many folk extract the urine.
I now tell them that they need to wait another day or so for everything to be 100% set.

There is nothing worse than, after a long day, the customer coming out with an endless line of soap dishes and towell rings for you to fit.

oh, there is one thing worse. That's when they expect it done FREE:mad2:
A man who works for nothing is never out of work...but he starves to death !
