Fixings for marmox

Hi all,
Just a quick question as my bathroom job is well underway now and by next weekend I should be ready to start bringing in bathroom furniture etc....

anyway what I wanted to know is what fixings would be suitable for marmox board. I want to screw items into it at various locations however I have used marmox on floor and wondering what fixings for the likes of toilet etc..

I have tried researching this myself but only get fixings for marmox installation.

You need to fix through the marmox into the substrate. Planning beforehand should have been done to provide a solid fixing point, such as timber where the cistern/basin etc is to be screwed to the wall if the wall was stud work.

What is the substrate beneath the marmox on the floor ?

Is it an upstairs bathroom? if so the floor should be some form of plywood underneath the marmox (marmox fixed with cement based flex adhesive & marmox washers and screws)

so using normal screws to fix the toiled basin will be fine (as long you check for pipes under the ply)

I would tile the whole floor first then drill holes for toilet basin so it sits on the tile surface, no need for niggly tile cutting then

no its a bungalow floor, I believe the floor surface is a screed over concrete and the boards have been put down using flexi addy.

In that case then I would drill, plug and screw the basin down. The plug must go in to the concrete and screws must be long enough to penetrate through the marmox in to the plugs. Screwing in to Marmox alone will not be good enough as it is essentially just polystyrene foam with a coating of glass fibre/ polymer-cement mortar.

oh poo, guess I better dig the drill out then, the marmox board is 40mm thick.
