floor issues for travertine

hi all ,got called to price a travertine job that other trades have prepped,
timber floors,green chipboard, over boarded with 12mm ply,
i wouldnt tile on ply that thickness,as i prefer to hardi, but assured by certain tech departments i could down as far as 9mm ply and still be ok
what is your train of thought, as leaving ply down (as it has already been layed),hardi over top from there,or could i just fit dural c1 matting
and get the benefit of decoupling ,all thoughts greatly appreciated

What's under the green chipboard?
Any bounce in floor?
If there is no bounce and the ply was well screwed down I would decouple over it if possible.

theres no deflection , its a very sound floor, but ive just been told that they are planning on using impey matting over the lot as its also a wet room, also ufh

What Tech department was that?

Are they willoing to send a rep out to guarantee it I wonder?

If needs must I would go for a decoupler, providing all deflectio has been eliminated.

Make sure there is no bounce at at all

I would then use 12mm hardi backer board glued and screwed

If it is a wetroom with UFH then i would use Dural CI+ and tanking tape... what is going on the walls.?

As it is a wetroom then it will need to be water tight..

its getting tanked on the walls ,to create the wet room, im trying to use the ply thats already down ,if it means over board with hardi, then the impey that would have to be the route to take ,ive walked into the job and the ply has been screwed down and the usual its all ready to tile,just wanted other valued opinions,cheers

hi all, impey membrane to be layed by others, not down yet,dont know if this as any bearing on the structure already been layed,
ive spoke to weber 2 day and they say they wouldnt recomend using there adhesives with that structure and set up,or words to that effect
its looking like dural with it been travertine,and its quite a big floor,but i need to know if the ply is thick enough with the dural to suffice, advice appreciated

At what stage is the Impey to be laid and why would they want Dural and Impey.

hi john maybe ive not explained myself correctly,the floor has been prepped by others, ie 12mm ply over green chipboard,with the idea of overlaying with impey to create the wet room,personally i would have reservations with tiling on this, so to utalise the ply that has been laid already ,would it be feasable to not install the impey and dural instead, as its travertine and wet room.or i would feel happier to hardi over the ply that has been laid then impey your thoughts appreciated

hi all the plot thickens,ive spoken to a few peeps over the past few days,with different results,
long story short and to ease clarification
i want to install travertine to a timber chipboard floor,with ufh does this sound ok
hardi glued and screwed
insulation board what thickness? would 6mm be ok
de coupling membrane glued
ufh
self level over the lot
then tile
