bit of advice needed,got a ceramic floor to lay in a bathroom ,house is about 5 years old so im going to ply over the chipboard floor,problem being that the floor is nice and level half way then falls about 1/2 inch for the other half,what would be the best solution for this

Ply first, then self level over with a suitable flexible self levelling compound.
The very best for this application is Mapei Fibreplan - fibre re-inforced, flexible, designed for plywood floors
Not sure about depth in one application for this product, may need two applications

Mapei fibre plan is perfect for timber floors.........

Water-bored ultra-fast hardening self levelling fibre reinforced smoothing compound.
Applications:
Fiberplan is used for smoothing and levelling from 3 to 10 mm over adequately anchored wood substrates and wooden boarding where good resistance to loads and traffic is required; Fiberplan is suitable for wheeled chair traffic and for heated floors.
Fiberplan can only be used internally.
Smoothing of old and new timber floors: wooden boarding, chip-board panels, plywood, parquet.
Smoothing cement, terrazzo, old ceramic tile, natural stone substrates. Coverage
1.6 kg/m2 per mm of thickness. Packaging
25 kg bags.
