If you remember me, I was the feller with the dog slate tile floor in a showroom. Clean and seal 150+ metres, etc. etc.

It went well and I got paid handsomely, very handsomely indeed. It took 2.5ays, and to be honest I opted against the advice I obtained here. It was very good advice I must say, however with a little ingenuity I made the job a lot easier.

Shame the floor looked like sh**. The Polish chaps that layed the floor neglected to clean the tiles of grout properly, and when I colour enhanced and sealed it it looked dog...lol. I did warn them.

It all looks good cause I have just quoted to do the rest of their showroom in travertine, 156+ M2, nice. Depends if they get their act together. I don't suppose they will be choosing to use cheap unskilled eastern European labour again.

Just though I would keep you updated on the trials and tribulation of not doing the job properly. remember listen to your tiler, he knows best! (along with this very useful forum of course :))

Ciao for now, cools71

Maybe we ought to start a thread in the Gallery of "WHAT NOT to do!" Post pics of shoddy craftsmanship we've seen. I work at a hospital and could post plenty if I were to bring my camera! The areas that are used by the public are very nicely tiled... but the private restrooms used by employees have absolutely horrid tiling. I think the Hospital Handyman was allowed to do the work because if they paid a professional, they surely were robbed blind! Cools71, I'm looking forward to hearing more of your saga!
