floorboard dilemma

Hi all, been away for a while, but am happily back with u all.


Just a bit of guidance; about to start a full kitchen wall & floor job, walls just require a bit of plaster patchwork, but i'm toying with the idea (on reccomendation!) to tile directly onto floorboards using either TA ULTIMATE FLEX or kerakoll eco rapidflex. Floorboards are sound with very very little deflection after screwing at joists and weber primers to be used etc etc. just wondering if anyone has had the pleasure of these ads without ditra or overboarding/hardi?

Why can you not use Ditra or a cement board???
I'd never tile direct to wood, and would walk away even if the customer insisted.

tiling direct onto floorboards , i would,nt chance it . over board with cement board , or i would walk away if the customer insists om tiling direct to boards,

Why toy with the idea after a recommendation? From who, why etc?

There's lots of products and info re floor prep. So why risk going straight onto the floorboards?

Cheers, I do agree after 13 years of glueing and screwing!! It was mearly a thought process in the current financial climate; fortunately for some, their customers are more than happy to finance the more expensive options, albeit hardi/ditra/addy. I was only asking?
