I always get my diesel from Sainsburys and on average use £40 per week. When I put my £40 in, I always reset the trip meter and get around 180 miles consistently. Just recently I've been going to Texaco due to Sainsburys having massive ques, I've been putting £40 in the tank still and the two mileages so far have been 218 and 222, thats 20% or so more!!! I mentioned this to someone and they said that the supermarkets thin their fuel down to get more profit, I don't believe that and know that Sainsburys is supplied by BP so it should be good quality. I know Shell claim to have a fuel that gives you more to the gallon but it costs a bit more. I haven't been driving any differently and my travelling is a mix of town and longer journeys. Has anyone else noticed differences in MPG from different suppliers?

I have never really bothered to check, but at a 20% difference, I think I will start, thanks for the heads up, out of interest, what about costs, as obviously price per litre will have an affect on the amount of litre's per £40.

135.9 at sainsburys, texaco is 1p more so really it's even better as I'm getting 40 miles more for slightly less fuel!

I don't know about milage difference of different fuels, but I always fill my van up and run it till the light comes on to save time and probably milage as there are less visits to the garage....

I was told its a diffrent sulphur content in the supermarket stuff and to stay away from it because my truck is Japanese and the seals dont like it

I don't like putting a whole tank in as it means carrying the extra weight around! Which reduces mpg! Also my van has a 90 litre tank which costs about 110 quid to fill, I'm far too tight to be splashing out that kind of money in one go!

i have noticed tesco and morrisins offering money of per litre if you spend x amount in the shop.....asda however have dropped prices in general on fuel

my local garage is 1,43 and asda are 1.35 so ill defo be going there

Its always a good idea to see what mpg your getting.Start with a full tank of fuel.Do a couple of days driving and fill up again to get correct figures.
