Hello Tilers, i often visit this site in search of info but dont often post, i have a problem with genesis g-matting, i have just read some posts on another tiling forum about gmat faliure as i did over 200m jan2011 in two houses for a builder and have had to go back several times mainly the crunching sound, the grout is not cracking but this is still not exceptable, when i have changed any it seems like the fleece is debonding from the matt i am feeling that i will never be rid of this situation and its going to cost thousand to put right, i will talking to a rep tomorrow, i know other people have experienced this problem and that genesis stopped selling it, i did read that it was because the slicone that bonds the fleece was failing and this seems to be the case, sorry if this message is rambled but any help welcomed.

Many thanks

Martin.

Genesis did not come up with anything...

How ever Dural uk did with their version of this matting and have since changed design and manufacturer...

martin, you are bang on, yes the polythylene is debonding from the fleece and it is the adhering system used the factory that is failing, as far as i know Genesis are doing nothing to fix it... they might be now , so do check with your rep...
