Gas cooker change to an electric cooker Discussion ThreadGas cooker change to an electric cooker Electrical Advice

Hi everyone, we currently have a gas cooker which is getting old and needs to be replaced. The problem is that the width is 55cm and there are few gas cookers of this size nowadays. The question is - how easy would it be to change to an electric cooker? Our current gas cooker has a 13amp connection for cooker lights etc but obviously this wouldn't be sufficient for an electric cooker, so presumably we would need some rewiring to the fusebox (about 10 metres away in a different room)..

Advice please as to whether this is this a straightforward job.
