Glass Splashback Removal

Hello fellow tilers,


Can anybody please tell me what they have found to be their best method for removing a glass splashback, as my customers now require ceramic tile splashback instead, i presume it has been siliconed on.

do you have any access to the top or sides ?

If you can get in from the side then run a large hacksaw blade in from either side..

If you can get access to the sides, I too would use a hacksaw blade and using a paint scraper or similar, gently ease it away from the wall.

There is access to both sides of splashback,all though only 1mm if that, as i've got a feeling it will have been put on with a ton of 'mirror mate' or similar 'gunk'.

I was thinking of putting duct tape over all of it and smashing it off? if hacksaw technique does not work, is this the only way?

They are toughened glass so will shatter... so ye taping it is wise..
