going self employed,,,,where to advertise??

Hello. I am soon to start up by myself and was wondering the best places to advertise to get the work coming in. It is a scary prospect and any advice would be great,Thanks.....dave

Even as an apprentice I was self employed so don't really know how scary a prospect it is- youth and all that!
