Goodbye yellow Dewalt drill... You served us well for 4 years.

You were even manhandled by Peter Jones on Dragons Den.

And its time to say hello to the shiny and new Makita 18v replacement drill.

The poor dirty, gruby. battered old Dewalt has been put through over 5,000 hours of demonstrations plus lots of private jobs. And it seems the knackered old batteries just cant hold their charge any longer. Not good when in the middle of a demo!

It will probably live out its days doing "small jobs" about the house but the days of getting up at 4am and going on the road to trade shows are long since over...

(Mental note to self - Must remind you guys the first ToolFair is coming up soon in Yorkshire)

I love my Makita. I have the BHP452 in the Black & White limited edition and its the best drill I've owned and I've tried a good few.

Over 22000 blows per min in hammer action and 50 newton meters of torque its a bit of a beast for the money imo.
