Hi I'm new here. Just had a new bathroom fitted, fully tiled. The builder who did the job is not returning any calls or messages, the grouting over the bath is turning a pale shade of green. I have tried various products to clean it off, with no success. He removed the old 1930's tiles and stuck the new ones directly onto the wall, he didn't re-plaster first. Could this be the problem and what can be done?

Hi Dave
Unfortunately all I know is that he used a tradesman's big commercial tub of grouting, don't know what kind. The tiles are B&Q white ripple wall tiles. I have used Mr. Muscle bathroom cleaner, thin bleach and Cillit Bang, applied with a sponge and used an old toothbrush, rinsing off with clean water in between applications.
If you can suggest anything else, I'd be grateful, thanks.:mad2:

Hi Cathy and welcome to the forum,

Mrs Slow says that a product called "Grot Buster" (available from most reasonable retail outlets???) will get the tiles and grout all sparkly again.

As for the reason for the problem I think we need more info. You say "new bathroom", when was the tiling done? Any chance of some pics to give us an idea of the problem?

If the "Tiler" is still not returning calls or messages, then it sounds like he did something he knew was wrong, and not just the fault of the produces he used.
It will be difficult to help you with just guess work, if you get in touch with the Builder find out the Adhesive and grout he used.
Then come back with as much info as you can, there are alot of top, top Tilers on here and one of them will figher it out for you.
Best of luck

This job was done less than a month ago. The grouting is only green in between a few tiles just above the bath. The walls are brick, and I'm sure he re-plastered them before affixing the tiles, as the old 1930's tiles were hacked off, leaving little or no plaster on the walls.
Thanks guys.
