Hi All,
I am doing a total remodelling of a bathroom and I am creating a 3'x5' shower stall where the bath tub was previously.
The shower I am creating is a traditional dry-pack concrete base over a plywood base ( with building paper and metal lath on top as a bond break)
I have previously used a prefab base and decided to use the traditional style this time as I am installing a heated floor.
There will be a heated floor under the tiles in the shower and also another mat in the rest of the bathroom floor.
My question for those of you who have done this before is what is the proper floor assembly order and thicknesses of material to do a proper heated floor in the shower?

I am using Warm Up floor heater mat and believe the correct order would be:

-sub floor
-3/4" plywood cover over sub floor
-sloped dry pack concrete base - 1/2" high at drain center and 1 1/4'" at perimeter
-PVC shower pan liner
-sloped finish level dry pack mortor - 1/2" thick?
-Warm Up floor heater mat 1/8" thick
-thinset mortor - infill the heater mat and add extra 1/8"
-2x2 mosaic tile with grout

How to do the transitition from the floor tile to the 13" wall tile that looks best?
-Leave a larger grout space (3/16)between the floor and the wall?
-install one row of 2x2 tiles on the wall at the floor before changing to the 13" tiles?
Any helpful comments are appreciated.

Thanks to all in advance,

John
