Grey adesive under travertine

Hello,
I found myself in a difficult situation because the workers fixed the travertine tiles with grey adhesive:mad2:. Is there anything I can do before sealing (which wasn't done either) in order to avoid staining, such as washing the travertine with a specific product? I was also thinking to use more layers of sealant so the stone will absorb a lot, maybe the substance will get to the back of the tiles and they will not absorb the grey colour? If nothing works, how big will the damage be?
Thank you very much!

No, they are not. They were fixed 3 days ago and now they look great, but I have read that they can absorb colour.

I am not sure what this means, they spread the adhesive with a plaster's hawk with teeth so I guess solid bedded.

Solid bed Fixing is a BS requirement of all natural stone, it means buttering the back of the tiles with adhesive as well as notching the floor with the trowel to ensure maximum coverage and on travertine this ensures the honeycomb structure at the back of the tile and any voids are filled. By the sounds of it these were not solid bed fixed.
