Grout Removal Job - Advice Needed

Does anyone or has anyone get any jobs for regrouting

If so how much should i charge for it ?

I got a phone call today and im quoting tomoorow so any advice would be great


will i also need a Fein Multimaser as i dont have one yet

Multimaster will wallop the job but makes a hell of a mess with the powdering up.Lots of cleaning up to do so cover everything.As for price for grouting I would work out the metre rate of coverageand estimate how long you think you can grout that area and work out a day rate .Split in two if you think it will be a quick hit.Err on the side of caution as it is a pain in cheenies to do over a small area so if large think seriosly if you really want it.

Have you done a regrouting job. i was thinking about charging about £10 psm

if its a normal size bathroom, say 20 sm = £200 , is that fair, shouldnt take more than a day and half

Have done small areas and felt i priced it low as it made a hell of a mess and if using a diferent colour grout is hard to get every bit out.Care to be taken at tile edges too as can chip easily.Me personally would let it ly.:joker:

not a job that i would do as tiles chip,mess,can be very hard work for your money,i would let this go and try anmd persuade them into new tiles.IMO YOU ARE GIVING YOURSELF HASSLE,as you will find out if you take the job on.Let us know how it goes.

Agree with brian, could be a lot of hassle, very easy to slip and cause damage to loads of tiles, also you need to get near enough every bit of old grout out for the new stuff to stick.

If your not extreamly careful you could end up chipping loads of tiles and the customer demanding a whole re-tile for free.
