Grouting glazed porcelain tile

I am attempting to install a lot of glazed porcelain tile and am wondering if there is some technique to grouting for limiting the haze. The gritty surface of the glazed tile seems to be taylor made to create cleanup nightmares. I tried to search the forums here as well as google "grouting glazed porcelain", lol, get a huge list on how to get grouting haze off your porcelain tiles. I'd sort of like to mitigate that step a bit.

Emulsifying pads are very handy in the clean up stage.

Clean a tile up prior to fixing then place it in the sunlight then stand back and have a good look at the tile to make sure its not already hazed

There's no mitigating technique for grouting glazed porcelain ( or any rough surface tile)? I don't know, is there a caulk gun way of grout the tiles to reduce the amount of grout that gets on the tiles or do you just have to go over and over the tiles with clean water until you remove the haze.

Hi and welcome...there are grout bags which help in isolating the joints for cleaning or there grout haze removers from many companys.

Don't over stretch yourself by grouting too much at a time and allowing the haze to dry before going over it with your wet sponges.Or use something like Bal temporary sealer prior to grouting.

when it dries after you sponge it wipe with a flat soft cloth or vileda clean out with clean water every couple of tiles careful not to take the grout out of the joints ie flat cloth

as Jay has said, your safest bet would be, to make a test on a loose tile and what works should work on the fixed tiles. Keeping your water clean will reduce the haze. When its dry and if there is a light haze, dry buff it off(with a mutton cloth), then a final clean with a damp cloth. This usually works, but every tile is different.

Believe it or not it is not so much how clean your water is, it is more down to how often you rinse your sponge out and your technique with the sponge. Make sure that you rinse the sponge out loads and on your last wash off (to remove the last of the haze) "wipe" with the sponge, not scrub. Wipe once, then rinse the sponge. This is the best way I have found for cleaning up.

wipe once at 45 degrees to the grout line no matter how clean your water sponge
etc you will allways get grout haze imo after all is dry wipe off with a soft cloth
