grouting problem

new tiles laid down - still after 2 months brownish colour coming off on trousers of baby crawling even though i had washed floors - finally found out that if you wiped grouting with white damp cloth it changed to brown. SPecialist from tile shop came said the tiler had added too much water though he denied it and anyway rest of tiling in bathroom ok. specialist denied 2007 date on grouting bag was anything to do with it. Now he suggests we use Kerakoll liquid injecting into grouting to seal grouting. When we scratched grouting with sharp knife it did not make an impression. On sample area the grouting is now darker and i am worried that if they do this procedure the colour may vary depending on amount injected. Has anyone had this problem before - who is to blame and any different ideas would be welcome

Where is the residue coming from? The joint or the surface of the tile?
What are the tiles and other materials used. And how wide is the grout joint?

will send photo but not got camera at present but this would show anything .... residue definitely coming from grouting NOT ceramic spanish tiles - grouting is about 3/10 cm

the 2007 date on the grout bag could be the problem, the grouts proberly past its sell by date and isn't setting as it should...

yes this is what i thought but they are denying this date as out of date marking - plus the grouting is very hard - not being able to scratch it at all so shouldnt it set - do you agree that the only solution now is to use this Kerakoll which seals it even though it would change the colour - any other solutions..........?

ok now we agree probably out of date grouting but what should be do - shop recommended we use kerakoll sealing by injecting it into grouting - very difficult not to get it onto tiles and also changes colour slightly - darker and so by doing this manually might not be even in colour either - help.........
