Grouting uneven Marble mosaic

Hi folks,
Have done the tiling in shower area, and border around room. These tiles are so uneven it's unreal! If you were a proper sized action man, you could climb up the wall no problem! Anyway, the gaps vary between 0 and 3 to 4 mm.

I'm thinking gloves, plenty of grout, and some brushes to help remove the surplus...then sponge to dab. You couldn't drag a sponge over them.

Anyone had any similar encounters, and any tips!

Not really sure what to suggest here Brindle.

By the sounds of it, there will be some really bad shadows and the overall finish is going to look dreadful regardless of what you use to grout and wash down. Are you sure that you want to grout it? Rather just knock 'em all off the wall, prep the wall properly and do the job correctly?

No, the idea is that they ARE uneven on the wall, it's literally like an old stone wall, bits protruding everywhere. The walls are flat, no problems there.

If anyone does get the misfortune of using them (designed by Satan), here's what worked....
Medium thick rubber gloves, smear grout on by hand, similar to pointing stone walls with mortar; then after a while rub down with normal sponges (washboy too flat); then use a paper hanging brush or similar to gently brush excess grout away; then 2 time consuming goes over with sponge again.
Not fun and my fingers are knackered, but end result looks ok.

That style of stone is designed to be installed in drypack fashion with no grout lines.
This is the first time I have ever heard of them being grouted.

A suggestion if you ever do it again is to install them as you would cultured or real stone and put the oxides into your mortar mix to get the right color, let the joints ooze and set up a bit and then strike off the excess with a joint rake and smooth with a slicker. Use a small sponge to clean the face of the stone and any unsightly smears and a little wisk broom helps to get the loose bits out.

Aye, I've never heard of them being grouted either. Never seen them being used in bathrooms either. There's a first for everything I guess

They definitely need grouting as they're pre mounted on backing sheets with grout lines already set (albeit very unevenly!!)

I've grouted up the rest of the job now so will post some pictures tomorrow of the finished article.

Someone a while back put up some piccies of something similar, but as others have said they werent grouted, they were fixed butted upto each other, i cant find the pic, but if i recall they were in a pub.
