Hi everyone, first post here. Been lurking up to now but really informative forum, so thanks!

I've just finished tiling my kitchen wall with slate mosaic tiles. They look great but have a very uneven appearance (part of the character i guess) and there is a big difference in depth between some adjacent tiles (upto about 3mm in some places) My question is whether there are any techniques you can advise of to ensure an good finish. I have a grout float, sponge etc. Is it just a case of liberal application then a bit more attention for the uneven bits with the sponge.

Cheers for any advice you have!

Martin

when you grout, if you wash it off straight away, then the grout will sink into the joints a little and show up the uneveness. but leave the grout to dry out for 20 mins or half an hour before washing then not so much will come back out and creat a smoother trasnition between the uneven bits.

On this occasion seal b4 you grout with lithofin slate seal (1 or 2 coats) Grout as per leave to go off a little before sponging in so it hides the coarsness.
