Hello Leslie I personally grout the walls first then grout the floor grouting around the bottom were wall meets the floor with the floor grout, I do this mainly because I don't like grouting floors in white grout for discolouring issues, if it is white grout on the walls I try and use grey bal super flex on floor as it drys very light and doesn't really discolour. Hope this helps

The joint between the floor and the walls should be left completely clear of grout and siliconed. Grout will very likely crack and if you silicone over the top of the grout, the cracking grout will take the silicone with it. What colour you use for this joint is down to you but what you need to do is grout the floor and walls (in whichever order you prefer) and when the grout is just starting to harden off, run a paint scrapper of Stanley knife along the joint and hoover it out. Then when the grout is completely dry, apply a silicone bead along the joint in either the same colour as the floor or wall grout.

Hope this makes sense.
