Gulf stone

Just been having a little scout round the forum with regards to the above tile, what is the general concensous, 2 part or rapid cement based adhesive and do they need sealing? Had a look on the LTP site with regards to the sealing and there is no mention of gulf stone. Thanks all.

2 part whenever I fit them and I would seal them as I have seen them stained by grout

Gulf stone is quartz grit and resin and doesn't need sealing IMHO... and a 2 part adhesive is recommended.. Mapei grani-rapid is one

Is the main reason for not using SPF just to do with the water possibly deforming the tiles, or is there an adhesion issue also?

Depends on the quality of the tile.. cheap ones don't like water from single part adhesives.. but it is the bond yes... and they don't like heat from UFH..

I've seen a fair old bit of it in the suppliers but not fitted any yet, until now. These tiles are bright pink! I'll post a few pics over the next couple of days, might even be a nice one for JOTM.

I laid some Chinese ones recently which looked bright pink/red bri. I didn't seal them and they were fine. I could smell the resin when cutting them.

I profiled a couple of them this afternoon and the smell was very odd, I thought I'd set fire to the back of my van until I realised it was the resin!

did they polish up okay bri? i'll have to look inti the profiling bits but up to now i've not needed them

Bri, my job is with the bright pink 300 x 300 ones from Topps. Its a wetroom so I may bung a few pics in JOTM too :lol: :lol:
