Gully,tile cuts!

What's the recommended way to tile a showertray.
1.Start from the gully and tile outwards making equal cuts around the square gully and if you hit the walls with thin peices tough luck,or
2.work out your floor spacing and tile it as it hits the gully.
can anyone post pics of different tile cuts around a gully?.Thanks.

Hi peejay, you should try and get the cuts all the same around the grid, however if you are going to be left with slither cuts then you will have to move the tiles to compensate, slithers do not look good at all, there are hundreds of pictures on here, I am sure someone will put some up soon.

but all of this is unimportant as every room is different!
