Half a job done

Hi all

Well I've laid my ditra on my green screed adhesive and ready to go with 5 sq mtrs of 60 x 60 porcelain tiles. I've had a read of an old thread " how to tile a floor".
I want to do brick pattern and the room is 2.5 x 2.5m near enough. Even though its a simple shape i've done a diagram on graph paper.

What do you think about dry laying the tiles and CUTTING them first or should i cut as i go?? I am going to start in the middle of the room where I can reach the far wall and work back out.

Any ideas welcome.

PS: this little 5m utility room leads out into my next "little" project a 45sq metre "L" shaped new extension - so this is my pracise run.

I would just cut as i lay them..but do what ever you feel comfortable with.....good luck..

I always dry lay first - Just in case!!

I set out the room as per requirements, be it cuts round something awkward, visual od grout lines around features etc. Then you know where all your tiles will go before you start. Then just go to one end and start, if the cuts are easy bring them with you, if not do them after.

i always do my cuts as i go find it quicker.
one time i layed full tiles and went
back to do the cuts took for ever.
