Hall flooring

I have 400 x 400 tiles to lay in my hall which approx 20 sq meters. I'm using a porcelin tile and the the T&G flooring is in good condition with joists at 400 centres. What thickness ply can I use as a minimum to avoid large steps and what adehisve is best used. I plan to use a tiler, but want to be sure I get sound advice.

You would really need to leave that call to the tiler that you employ but bearing in mind the size of your floor...and without seeing it, I would be looking at an absolute minimum of 12mm if it was me!

If the T&G is greater than 18mm thick, I would overboard with 12mm ply and use a cement basid rapid set flexi adhesive..if the T&G is under 18mm thick, I would be tempted to lift the T&G and replace it with 18mm ply...

minimum of 12mm ply for me with a cementious flexible adhesive white if grouting with light colours, also a flexible grout.

We could also sort a reliable tiler for you, then no worries on getting a bad one...

12mm for me to unless there was a height issue,then you could remove the t&g boards and replace with 18mm
