Hi to everyone.
At long last I am about to start refitting the bathroom (tears of joy from er indoors) with the wall tiles being marble. I appreciate there is a weight problem and that things have to be done correctly. The bathroom is already tiled and my plan is as follows.
1) Strips all the walls down to the cinder brick. The reason being that the scratch coat is of poor quality and very likely to comee off with the old tiles.
2) Seal the walls with a universal bonding agent.
3) Tank the shower area with Bal WP1
4) Tile direct onto the tanked and sealed cinder brick walls.
Please note that the tiles will be sealed before being fixed to the wall.
Will I need to use a backer board of will I be okay fixing straight to the sealed and tanked walls.
Your expert advise would be appreciated and gratefully received.
Best regards to you all
