HardieBacker/Adhesive

Hi Everybody

New to the forum and looking to clear up a query.

Just preparing my bathroom at home for tiling floor/walls and have purchased HardieBacker EZ Grid 250 6mm to go over the newish (4 year old) chipboard flooring which is solid.

I have never used HardieBacker before and the instructions say to use 'non-flexible tile adhesive' under the boards but most people on here say to use flexi.

I was going to go as per the instructions but now wondering if I should go with the flexi.

Any help appreciated

Hardie do recommend a non flexi just to take up any undulations on the floor but I use a flexible adhesive....

Hi, I'm the same as whitebeam above, I almost always use a flexi addy for laying Hardi.
I commented on another thread today about this, I have used non flex without issue & that is what Hardi state to use.
It's up to you, either or, it's not a problem.

Apparently its only down to cost.Cheaper to use non flexi for the underlations

Thanks for replies guys. As i will already have the flexi for the tiles, I think I'll just use that then.
