I am in heavy debate /Argument with a builder and plasterer at the moment. The plasterer has used Hardwall plaster to make a wall good , now they say I can tile to it but the way I have always understood it is that it can only be tiled to after receiving a finish coat. The words printed in teh British Gypsum PDF doesnt make it that clear anyway ???

can be applied directly to the Thistle finish.
If plastering to provide a background for tiles, avoid polishing
the surface. Polished plaster surfaces should be roughened
and a suitable primer used. Tiles should not be applied
directly to Thistle undercoats, with the exception of
Thistle Dri-Coat."
