Hi from NJ, US. I feel silly registering, not a pro, barely DIY. More a Crafter. I rec'd MANY boxes of hand-me-down tiles - 11cm x 11cm (4 -1/4 x 4-1/4), ceramic (American Olean). I wanted to decorate some tiles to add interest to spaces in bath, kitchen backsplash. Is it possible for me to use a paint or marker that would not easily chip off or fade? Or is that only possible pre-glaze? I'd appreciate anyone's advice, when they can stop rolling their eyes at the silly amateur. Thanks so much and hoping all enjoy their Labor Day / day off!

Acrylic paint would stick and stay on the longest. A strong scrubbish brush would get it off after a lot of elbow grease and time though. But easy enough to touch up again.

Are they ceramic tiles or stone? Matte finish or polished glaze?
