Have i messed up?

Hi all, I'm a noob to the forum, i'm no pro, purely DIY.

If you see the attached pic, i have recently tiled a hob splash back as a feature in a house i am renovating, i bought and laid the tiles without doing any prior research of travertine. stupid i know! i have since, and am now a little concerned with regard to staining. I have bought some everbuild natural stone and tile sealer. are the sealers effective in keeping stains at bay? also would you say it were best to seal pre or post grouting?

Any help or info would be much appreciated.

seal before grouting not familiar with ever build, ltp or lithofin for me

As above always put at least one coat of sealer prior to grouting

Once grouted wash and leave to dry make sure theres no residue left on the tiles and that they are clean and dry

Then apply one more coat of sealer this will protect the grout as well
