i need help to use this forum. Then i need help to tile my kitchen splashback. So far i think i may have worked out what a thread is! ..... this??
I live in Australia on the Gold Coast. Computers are not my forte....oh you've noticed!

I have a little kitchen that i have pulled the tiles off the splashback and it has furry paper on it. It is also uneven along the sink wall so i am looking to ask for advice but i believe that's another department.

I look forward to conversing ...... cheers, helpie

Hi mate and welcome to the forums :)

Furry paper on the wall, never heard of furry backed plasterboard or similar, but if they old tiles were fixed to this, then I can't see why new ones can't be also fixed to it.

If it's uneven along the wall then it all depends on how uneven it and what best method of preperation is required, but if it was already tiled, and it looked even then theres no reason why it can't be tiled again evenly, unless the old tiles have taken away a lot of this furry backing.

You guys are great...thank you already. Yes faithhealer you got it! Do i have to seal it? Please say no!

fekin, now we know what this furry stuff is!! The wall is not even because i had to plug up the hole where the taps used to be and i didn't do it real good. At least it dips inward so needs building out. Been told i can use extra adhesive but being a novice i'd prefer to get the section a bit level before i start sticking on tiles! The uneven wall is only 160mm high ( from bench to window sill) and about 500 is uneven. The other contributing problem is that the bench top along that part isn't flush with the back wall because it's not been cut straight (2nd hand) In building out the wall, i would close part of the gap between wall and bench.
Would love to be able to 'post' a couple of pics Mark .... with my computer skills it surely would be faster to mail them.... even from Oz!!
