Hi to all. I am Chris Martin and have given up singing with Coldplay to put tiles on walls and floors (all true...except the singing bit!) After 22 years in Financial Services as Building Society Manager, redundancy money came in handy in buying all my new tools last September! I needed a change in career and the drastic step from that to Self Employed Tiler has been great. They say life begins at 40 and as I hit that age last August, I can honestly say I havent looked back!
I was busy from day one up to Christmas after doing a mates job and then getting recommendations from a Carpenter who was working there as well. January and the start of Feb was quiet, as I expected, but I am jammed up now until the end of April. Now get most of my business from Topps Tiles recommendations (well, they give my card out with two others and then its pot luck) It has gone manic in the past two weeks, getting job after job, so I cant complain.
I paid for an advert in a local newsletter / magazine last month when things were quiet, but that has only just got published, so I am hoping not much comes from it ... yet!
