Hi tiling folks
My name is Stan, I live in Hampshire, over the last few years I’ve done a chunk of tiling including two bathrooms (incl floors and walls to the ceiling like wet rooms, incl all the boxing in and some plumbing – which I also did), a large kitchen (floor and walls), utility room, a toilet – incl all the boxing in, installing the WC, basin etc, the smallest room – the biggest pain to do isn’t it always the way, a long very strange shaped hallway – super hard Pilkington tiles with absolutely millions of cuts – I think that little project wore my cutter and knee pads out. My tiling war-story includes my wonderful plumber installing an expensive Grohe thermostatic shower mixer behind my perfectly ok tiling without bothering to install blanking plugs in the spare outlets :mad2: (I had to take my tiling down and redo it as apparently the water is supposed to go into the shower and not inside the walls! – I almost cried). I love tiling and I’ve now decided to go and get trained to do it properly (with Danny and Sam over at Diamond, they look like a great outfit ) and start my course at the end of this month :hurray:. I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve lurked on the forum for a little while and must say I’m really impressed by the help, advice and opinions on here, I’ve obviously especially appreciated the opinions and input of the professional tilers on here – an open thanks go to you all. (and you guys laying those traditional Victorian patterns – very cool, wish I could do that – respect2U) … catch you later – Stan001
