hi there, thought it was about time to say hi to everyone after reading some good info from your posts. i was in the tiling trade a few years ago working for a local tile shop, both out on the tools and selling tiles etc in the shop and then for financial reasons ended up being let go, so ended up doing other things for a while but now would like to get back into the trade, so my skills would be a little rusty, but got all my tools still. what i could really do with is some hints and tips into starting up on my own, so any help gratefully received, thanks.

Hi Hawko87 and welcome to the forum, as you found lots of good advice here for old and new tilers,
ALL i can say for someone starting up, is to start off with a good image, good business cards, good sign writing, a website, free ones here - Get Started - Getting British Business Online ,advertise locally and build up a reputation, use well established company for materials ( see forum sponsors on here) and keeping looking on here for advise and look at "im looking for a tiler"
A few of my family are tilers in your neck of the woods, and have been for many years, so must be a good place to find work. all the best

welcome to the forum and good luck with the new business. ask at your local jobcentre for any info on where you can get help to set up. there is some help out there if you can find it and especially if you've been made redundant
