I'm a complete novice at tiling, but am working (slowly) on tiling my bathroom walls. so far, covered only about quarter of one wall, but it was not straightforward, and advice found on this forum very helpful. Of the tiles I have put up, only about 5 (of about 20) did not have to be broken or sawn, drilled, hung upside down at the top of the window alcove, etc. (two towel rails under a window, with holes for microbore pipes, mounting screws for the towel rails, etc, all carefully positioned so that the towel rail screws hit wood battens behind the plasterboard, pipes sited to fit the valves, and miss the wood battens, etc. Currently fitting the aquapanel behind the bath, with some complication because it is a roll-top shower bath that needs to be inset about 15 mm so that the tiles that abut the edge are on the top of the lip, and water runs back to the bath, not collects in a groove. Don't expect to be much help to anyone else at this stage in my experience!
