Hi Everyone,

Firstly, hats off to a great forum, and loads of helpfull members,

A bit about me....

I currently work full time but have always wanted to learn a trade properly, I have decided after doing my own tiling projects (full bathroom walls and floor, kitchen floor, splashbacks) and half height bathrooms, kitchen splashbacks and floors for friends and family for free, that tiling would be a good choice for me.

I dont profess to be fantasic at it after handfull jobs i've done over the last year but i think i've got a good foundation and have decided that initially i want to go self employed part time tiling.

Although the jobs i've done so far have worked out fine, i want to go on a proper course and do some more free practice jobs before i attempt to embark on any paid jobs.

The favourite so far is the NETT course (not close to me but i have family in South Shields so staying with them for a week makes it very handy and by the sound of things here it's a higly recommended course).

So Hello from me, i've got hundereds of newby questions which i wont bore you with here, at the moment i'm just doing my research so i can get the best possible start.

Got a busy few months coming up with a holiday and house move so will probably be a bit quiet with the questions until mid july, after that it'll be all guns blazing.

Hi logi6260,
Snap,im in the same boat as you.Always done my own decorating so i thought i would do a tiling course, half way through a 4 week one at the moment.Doing part of it at weekends then taking two weeks holiday from work to do the City & Guilds.Really enjoying it,just spent the weekend on my knees doing a floor, very pleased with my effort. Will give my services out to family and friends to get some practice in before i would even think about taking this on full time.So i will be joining you with all the questions from the vast amount of experience there is on this forum
