help for a novice please

just starting tiling splashback in kitchen and when taking off the old tiles the top 3 ml of plaster has come off all around the window. will i have to prime with an acrylic primer or can i just comb the walls and butter the back of the tiles to pack it out slightly??? also on the bottom of the window sill i have left the tiles on so that i dont have to take the plastic off the windows which have just been fitted (this is siliconed in to draught proof it) will it be ok to tile over these? i am using weber.fix wr. 10cm tiles

Yes prime all areas to be tiled....

i would remove the plastic finishing trims and re-fit after tiling
and if they break when taking them off. Don't worry as they are only pennies to but new ones.... you will get them from any plastics suppliers.....
i tend to tile to the window frame and Silicon this point for movement and then re-fit trims to tile tops in the reveals....hope this helps mate...good luck and let us know how you get on.....

job looking superb so far really pleased
will post some photos when complete. what grout would you use? have you used the bal microban? or would you just use a water resistant grout

Bal microban is an excellent grout.....
expensive but good..if i don't use that i tend to use superflex grout as well...
