When measuring your walls overshoot your measurements by around 5cm. Take a large spirirt level with you to chek the walls. When you have all your measurements I then add around 12% onto the total for waste, but if you are falling short then add 15%. Basically make sure you have too many tiles as the customer can nearly always return un-opened boxes that are not used (unless they are special order).

i find the best way is to measure each wall and mutliply height by width in inches then divide by nine that will give you square yards. and if you want then mutliply your square yards by 0.8361 that gives you square meters. and my self presonaly iwill round some .0 figuers off to the higher figure that allows for cuts,as for windows and baths you can do the same measurments and sums yhen subtract from total yards/meters and that is your quantity. here is a one wall example 121"x95"=11495.\ 9=1277.22222rond of to 13sq yards 13 x 0.8361=10.8693 sq meters sounds complicated it not in your dairy that you have for booking jobs just write. multiply height by width divide by nine=sq yards. sq yards mutliplyed by 0.8361=sq meters hope it helps dont knock your confidence it is a learning process:grin:

wouldn't it be easier to do wot smokie said but instead of dividing by 9 he does it by 11 and thats how to get m2?

i usually measure walls- top - bottom (say 8ft)
- left - right (say 8ft) = 64sq ft divide by 11 =5.8 m2

i usually do same with floors - wall - wall = ** divide by 11 = **m2

then to make sure you have enough tiles round up the m2 or add an extra m2 on to quote, hey presto plenty of tiles for everyone! works for me!!:hurray:
