Hi - I have a problem with my shower area leaking and I want to do a fix that will last me for a while longer. I have done the following.

Taken tiles off about a metre high for shower basin, some of the plaster has broken down so I've cleaned it all up and taken away any loose plaster and some mortar. As this is the only shower I have in my property I am anxious to get it re tiled asap.

Is there anything I can use to file this holes/crevices where I won't have to wait weeks to let it dry etc. Also parts of my wall that is currently plastered and awaiting to be retiled is uneven so again I would like to straighten this up before fixing tiles etc. Would I need to apply anything to the wall before using the Waterproofing Kit.

I am already planning on using Bal Waterproofing Kit but would like to get the base right before applying the kit.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks Phil - sorry can you educate me what do you mean by 'flexi rapid set' is that adhesive!!!! Sorry to sound so dumb:oops:

Not dumb at all, sorry yes flex rapid set is adhesive. Just thinking about time (only shower etc) the correct way would be to hack off all plaster, render with sand and cement. But then you would have to let it cure before tanking and tiling. Good luck:thumbsup:

hi westie , clean off all lose stuff . buy a bag of grey rapid set flexi from your local tile supplier. mix little at a time fill holes to a level finish. prime area with tile primer !. allow to dry then seal between tray and wall + silicon in joint corner of the walls with clear silicon. make sure you fill the gap up . no holes in silcon . the use your tanking kit make sure you read instructions . let it dry overnite then tile and grout. when dry silicon again with white or clear. . the better the prep the better the finnish .!! all the best to you westie .xx
