Discuss Help with uneven chipboard floor to level and prep for tiles in the Canada Tile Advice area at TilersForums.com.

Hello,
I hope you can help me ... My kitchen was tiled over concrete floor but tiles were cracking because floor had different levels and was uneven. To fix this the contractors have used 15 or 18 mm wp chipboard over the old tiles with a lot of adhesive but the problem still persists as you can see in the pictures. I think they have cut the groove because they are not flushed. They now want to lay a decoupling membrane before laying tiles but I don't see how this will solve the level and uneven problem. How can this floor be levelled now? Do you have any suggestions? Do I need to remove the chipboard? And if the chipboard needs removing, what do I use to remove it? It is going to be very difficult as this adhesive is harder than concrete!
Any help greatly appreciated as I just want to cry really

I feel your pain as I’ve had a brand new kitchen laid on porcelain tiles the whole floor is wrong there is lippage on most tiles at one point you feel like your walking up hill and this guy has been paid a lot of money for this disaster and he won’t even admit what’s wrong as now everything is going to have to come back out to correct ..and cost a lot of money what can I do ..?
