couple of questions first what is the best saw to trim the cornice on kitchen cupboards so i can slip tile behind i have a pull a pull saw but will this split the cornice ? also how much do i need to trim off will i mark tile the add 4mm for the adheisive ?also what screws do i need to buy for sockets if the tile s make the original screws not fit is it just 50mm socket screws ? what is best i am tiling round a extractor hood shaped like a chimey would be better to try and slip tiles to the back of rather than tiling round but are they easy to loosen off to get tiles behind them :confused: cheers

the best way is to remove the pelmet ( light rails ) and trim to size once tiled , you can measure how much to trim by measuring from first fixing point on under side of cuboard to tile and transfering this back to light rail, i.e. from fixing point on l/rail to end of the edge to be cut.
you can get socket screwes in various lengths , 50mm bieng the most commonly used and just snip to length .
i dowt if you can tile behind the extractor because the chimneys are usaully fixed on brackets and you will have to dismantle to adjust , i just cut round them taking great care with the angle cuts and then neatly Silicon around the extractor hood and chimney so no cracks appear with movement. hope this helps dave...
