Help!!

Got myself a nice little job starting next tuesday. 40 m2 of Travertino Griss Brillo. 600 x 600. 10mm thick.

My question, has any one ever laid these tiles? They have the plastic film protecting each tile, I presume wax-off diluted to remove the glue? Are they trav, or polished porcelian? Do they need sealing? Looking at the thickness, there seems to be a trace that they have been pre-sealed.

Any advice is greatly welcomed. Oh, they came from the tile & stone shop, apparently nation wide, but can't get a google hit on them, Fred.

if they are travertine you will be able to run your nail into the back of them or or scribe and it will score them

Fred !! Whack the tile off your head , if it breaks easy its travertine , if you wake up in hospital 24hours later its porcelain.. :lol:

I would presume they are not stone and infact porcelain trav effect..

porcelain, the plastic can be a nightmare and you need to factor it in to the price when using these tiles as the glue its stuck with is hard to remove and the packaging waste is excessive

A guy told me before about rubbing dry grout(unsanded or not, i'm not sure) on the tile to remove wax etc.
I haven't tried yet.

At the risk of stating the obvious, at 10mm and those dims' it wont be travertine/stone, so yes, porcelain.
