Hermes Carbide paper discs from Harbro supplies.

Well i went and purchased some carbide discs ( velcro backing) for edge finishing etc on stone , my diamond resin dry discs are well worn and wasn't too impressed with them for polishing lighter stones etc as they tended to leave resin residue..

Anyway ATS mentioned a few stone masons etc use the Hermes discs , so gunna give these a blast this coming week..>>> ABRASIVES

Harbro supplies have been supplying the stone trade for a lot of years and the service is spot on and with them only being a few miles from me, then perfect for top ups on supplies.

Perfect for marble. limestone and even travertine, unless you're doing 100's of linear m's at which point wet polishing with diamond pads become faster and more economical.

Dry diamond pads are good for really hard stuff like granite.

My work is more bespoke , so these will be perfect..


My 50 grit and 100 grit diamond pads are still ok , so when taking the arris of long linear meterage of skirts, then i can still use them.

IMO it is better to have the use of both... thanks ATS for the tip.
