i've just completed a wall and floor tiling course, im looking for a job now if any one knows of one i live in the stoke on trent area can travel all round staffordshire i got my own car and most tools so im all ready to go

Welcome to the forums Where did you do your course, didn't they mention any paths for you to go down job-wise?

Sounds like you're all ready for work, have you done a few jobs for friends and family and things?

hi i did my course at the plumbing and skills centre in burslem, they didnt really help much with getting work im hoping to go it solo one day but not sure how to do it myself and experience is always better just done my girlfriends hall way floor an a few other small jobs to get the practice in, so its just gettin out there now and that doesnt seem that easy but hey the time will come

Get a small ad in the paper and bang your cards in every tile shop within 15 miles of your home.

I get a lot of decent work from my cards in the shops.

Also, the Thompson Local & Yellow Pages are now taking advert booking for next years books, so get in there too.

I have got contracts with local conservatory/kitchen companies and small building developers. All this was gained by picking up the phone and asking the question. You need to be a quick worker to earn your money here though, as the rates they want to pay are not the same as what you would charge Mrs Smith for her En Suite. But its good regular work on nice new floors and fresh plastered walls. Perfect.
