hi all! new member, new tiler,

hi everyone. i am doing my nvq level 2 at the minute. be doing it one day a week since september. just bout to start my first job ( small kitchen ).

just looking for some handy tips and a list of total tools i would need if am goin to make a career out of tiling.

Welcome to the forum, I'd second what whitebeam says about tools, buy only the basics to get you started, better to have a few good trowels, than a hole load of rubbish ones.

just bought a sigma tile cutter.
could you name me some other quality brand of tools. ie drills, wet saw and so on?

Hi , good luck with your course, I`ve only been tiling a few years myself , what I`ve learnt is go at your own pace , don`t rush , speed will come with experience,

As the guys have said buy quality tools , get your basics then add to your kit as & when you need it ,

As for tools - a plastic ( not wooden ) 1m folding ruler cheap & a great bit of kit to have in your bag I could not live without one , spirit levels - buy these in-shop that way you can offer up 3 levels at once to check that they are true for level & plumb , I`m now looking to upgrade my wet cutter but for the last few years I`ve used a Plasplugs contractor (£80-£90) cutter & has never let me down ,
