at last i have found out what a linear metre is thanks to chase tiling, but do you pros work out in linear metres or square metres:huh2: :lol: also as i am new to the forum and still navagating round if i have a new question to ask do i just start a new thread:huh2:

Linear metres are for how far round your border is to go,length of wall divided by length of border=how many. Working out full walls is by the sq mtr..this is height of wall multiplied by length of wall =sq mtrs........Gaz

In a room with 4 walls you'd measure the height and width of each wall individually and multiply them to give you the square meter total for each individually.

You'd then add them up to give you the total room square meterage.

And your linear meters are simply your widths, individually or as a total.... say for borders.

You can also measure a linear meter run for borders on floors etc.
