Hi Ive been interested in tiling for a long time. Have had several goes within my home in the past. (Improved all the time).
Just before Christmas I took the leap and became self-employed as a 'HandyMan', with view to go on a tiling training course in Jan 08. Have been working on difficult tiling job on my own bathroom using 33 x 33 porcelain tiles with a mosaic 12 x 12 pattern. What makes the job difficult is I am tiling into a recess and having to mitre all the corners and of course match the pattern! (slow going!!!).
I am however loving the challenge and if I say so myself not doing a bad job of it so far.
I have just landed my first 'Tiling' job from March 4th. Kitchen Floor and into a washroom, 11m2 floor area. Although aprehensive, am also looking forward to it!
I have been reading this site over the last few weeks and have found it very informative, helpful and friendly. Thanks to all involved.
Obviously a special hello to CLAY'S TILES as not only local to me but I noticed has also done the course at Shropshire Building Skills. Congratulations on doing so well since doing the course. I hope I too can go some way towards the same success.
Sorry for the long intro. but that's my brief outline in a nutshell.
Speak again soon.
