hi everyone

hi everyone, been reading the forum a while now and really enjoying it.just got a question to ask. been contemplating going to nett to do the tiling and natural stone course for a while now some people seem for this and then some against become a tiler in such a short space of time i would like some advice should i do it or is it just a waste of time??????

Welcome along, no its not a waste of time so long as you use family and friends to help you gain practical experience and build confidence. I would agree that a course on its own is not enough

Learn as much as you can before you become a 'tiler' and ask as many questions as possible here on the Best Tilers Forum. Nett has some good replies from past trainees and they are situated in the best area of the UK!
Everyone needs a basic introduction to a trade/profession and this would seem an ideal way forward IMHO.

these courses are like driving lessons, they give you the basics to drive but don't make you Lewis Hamilton overnight. to become a good tiler takes time, as there's no substitute for experience than time on the job.

Hello and welcome... No short course will instantly turn you into a tiler, but it will give you a base to work from and build on.. It is good foundation training that will help you on the learning curve..

Welcome to the forum.

You'd be surprised how many good tilers have come through from courses. The worst I have come across are those who just 'turn their hand to it' and don't give the trade the respect it deserves. I think a good course is a sound foundation and this forum is excellent for technical info. The only think you'll be lacking is the practical experience and there are ways to build that up.
