how soon would you seal a slate floor?

Twice. Once after the adhesive has set, but before grouting. Then after the grout has fully set. Welcome along to the forum.

Thanks Brian, i read on the internet to leave 30 days until adhesive has cured, thought that was a bit long.

No mate 30 days is not necessary!!! Even the slowest setting cement based adhesive will be fully cured in 48 hours.

Hello Ron and welcome..

If the slate is laid, then make sure it is clean and dry.. then seal with either an impregnator or a topical sealer depending on the finish required.

Grout and then clean off till no residue on the tiles, leave to dry and then seal again.. normally 24 to 48 hrs is sufficient drying times between stages.
