hi everyone

<hr>i am a diy,er based in dublin and have a big problem with some jura limestone tiles i just laid in my bathroom. after sealing with LTP mattstone sealer there are streaks everywhere and a greasy type finish on top. if anyone had any ideas on how to get rid of these it would be greatly appreciated. did you clean the tiles prior to sealing and did you wipe the sealer off after the recomended time? and if you can put pictures on im sure you'll get more help, welcome btw

Hello and welcome..

You have left sealer residue on the surface... wet the surface with more sealer to reactivate the dried sealer and then buff off to remove excess.... or alternatively you can clean off excess with white spirit.. but i prefer diy'ers to use the sealer method..

Nice stone though, i have 140 mtrs to install soon..

Thanks for the advice, i will try reactivate it using the sealer and let you know how i get on. It only happened on the limestone and not on the honed travertine that i used it on as well,i hope it works as it looks terrible. Cheers Shay

it maybe that the stone had some moisture in it and the sealer has lay on the top of the stone then dried ?? you will have to strip back the sealer and start again...

Hi Dave, i tried to reactivate the sealer and buff off the excess and had no luck, so i tried cleaning them with white spirits and it worked great. thanks a lot lads for the advice it was much appreciated. Cheers Shay
